The construction of the new Central Office Building for the Grayson County Board of Education was a watershed moment for this school district as it did not have a stand-alone, dedicated facility for its administrative staff. The building’s facade is a brick and stone veneer over insulated concrete forms. Other design and construction elements include structural steel roof framing, a single ply membrane roof, steel stud and gypsum board interior walls, and all associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and site work. Additionally, the interior of the building includes architectural millwork, casework, ceramic tile and sound absorbing wall panels. One of the lasting features of the building construction is its signature glazed aluminum curtain walls with aluminum sunshades.
