The Project

Marrillia served as the general trades contractor under Turner Construction on this notable $16 million renovation to the Enoch Grehan Journalism Building.  Part of Marrillia’s role on this project was the coordination of all materials deliveries in and out of the project.  Site logistics played a significant role in this project as the project is located in the central core of campus and the building has no adjacent roads or parking lots.  Student foot traffic was virtually constant around the building at all times.  This project renovated the entirety of the existing 33,000 sf building and added a 12,000 sf glass connector to the adjoining McVey Hall building.  As part of the general trades role on this project, Marrillia completed all rough carpentry, select areas of demolition, maintenance of the site and site logistics, temporary shoring, miscellaneous steel fabrications, doors and door hardware, Division 10 specialties and window shades.
