Marrillia Design and Construction and JCSP Break Ground on New West Broadway Elementary School
LOUISVILLE, KY (August 24, 2021) — On Monday, Marrillia Design and Construction along with officials from Jefferson County Public Schools broke ground on the new West Broadway Elementary School, a state-of-the art facility which will serve the needs of students and families in West Louisville.
In a unanimous decision by the Jefferson County School Board, Marrillia Design and Construction was awarded the contract to construct the new elementary school in July of 2021. The nearly $28 million dollar contract includes the construction of the new 79,180 square-foot school to accommodate 650 students. Designed by Luckett & Farley, the project will feature numerous energy efficiencies, including geothermal heating and cooling, energy efficient windows, cool-roof technology and much more. Corridors within the school will also provide for “collaboration spaces” for flexible group learning.
