Danville Independent Schools – Mary G. Hogsett Primary School Renovation and Addition

Marrillia transformed this school built in the 50's into a state of the art learning institution worthy of teaching future generations.

The Project

The Danville Independent Schools Mary G. Hogsett Primary School Renovation and Addition project was a comprehensive renovation and expansion of Mary G. Hogsett Primary School. The project created an enhanced learning environment to meet the evolving needs of the school community and the 360 students attending the school.

Originally constructed in 1958 and named in honor of a secretary to the superintendent of Danville Schools for 27 years, this facility underwent extensive renovations to improve its functionality, aesthetics and energy efficiency. Marrillia upgraded and expanded classrooms, common areas, administrative offices, a library/media center, a multipurpose gymnasium and a cafeteria. These new spaces will support a variety of educational programs and extracurricular activities, fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for the students.

The project prioritized the implementation of modern technology and sustainable design principles. Advanced technological systems were integrated throughout the school, enhancing connectivity, communication, and educational resources. Additionally, sustainable features such as energy-efficient lighting, HVAC systems, and water conservation measures were incorporated to reduce the school’s environmental footprint.

Through the collaborative efforts of Danville Independent Schools, Marrillia Design and Construction, and the broader community, the Mary G. Hogsett Primary School Renovation and Addition project significantly enhanced the educational experience for students, teachers and staff. It represents a significant investment in the future of education in the Danville community, providing a transformative space that will serve generations to come.
